Thank you all again, I just wanted to drop a quick note in the waning hours of the campaign that we have reached the 6th stretch goal unlocking Francesca's Hot Summer cover. This will be available in Virgin, Foil, and Metal Virgin versions.

I'll be back tomorrow with a breakdown of what happens next!

So much to go over!

This one is going to be jam-packed, so bear with me and make sure you read all the way to the bottom!

First of all, thanks to all you awesome backers we have unlocked that 5th stretch goal of Stake Presents: Jessamy logo patches for all physical backers!

They actually came in this week. I ordered them a few months ago and they turned out great!

New Stretch Goal

I've alluded to something special, and a little naughty, coming from Francesca. When we were brainstorming the main cover for this issue, I proposed a layout to Francesca based on a combination of a few of her ideas, we do this a lot when layout the covers and the book in general. I thought we were 100% on the same page, but when the partially completed cover came over I got a little surprise and had one small comment to her, "They're all naked..."

Art is subjective, but also needs to be shareable, so we decided it was probably best to put clothing on everyone for the main cover and that is the image emblazoned on all the marketing materials for this campaign.

That NSFW (not safe for work) cover didn't die on the vine though. Francesca finished it, she named this cover "Hot Summer...the story of five French vampires who don't like clothes..."

The actual cover will come without the embarrassed emojis.

This will be open to order in virgin, foil, and metal as an addon in Backerkit if we hit $20k!

Tattoo anyone?

This may seem a little odd, skipping ahead to the next stretch goal before the 6th is unlocked, but we wanted to make sure everyone knew about it in advance. This is an extra special stretch goal...

Our illustrious letterer and graphic designer extraordinaire has agreed to show his dedication to the Stake brand and his legacy with the title by getting the logo permanently tattooed on his body.

This is going to be a stretch goal that would represent a record for us, $25,000. We're not close right now, we may not get close, but we're shooting for the moon.

But there's more...

Doing this tattoo will be Stake artist and amazing tattoo artist PIPER RUDICH!

You may remember Piper from such Stake covers as:

They've both agreed to live stream the tattooing and have a Q&A with backers!

It's ambitious, but maybe we can get there.

So there you have it - that's a lot of info on a Friday night, but we're getting into crunch time!

Less than $300 to go for next stretch goal!

I know I've been a little quiet lately, but I've been pretty busy and didn't want to post just for posting sake.

We're getting close to that next stretch goal and the reveal of the next one.

The Quah-man Cometh!

Alan surprised me this morning. He promised me pencils to share with you and colors by next Tuesday, but instead dropped the fully colored piece.

All I can say is, wow.

Alan's attention to detail is second to none:

Alan's been on fire lately and I think he knocked it out of the park for us.

Free Comic Book Day at The Collective

Since Megacon was all the rage in Orlando last weekend, local shop, and Stake supporter, The Collective decided to postpone their free comic book day by a week to this Saturday 8/21/21.

They will have copies of the Scout Free Comic Book Day offering (which includes a Stake Presents: Jessamy preview) and I'll be there to sign them!

The Collective is a great supporter of indie comics and also has a Kickstarter running right now to help spread the word about a few indie titles:

2 Weeks to go! Derrick Chew Cover and Page 1 revealed!

Can you believe there are only 2 weeks left!?!

The campaign is flying by and we couldn't be happier with the progress as we approach the next stretch goal. We still have a few more reveals!

Last night we revealed Derrick's cover on the Comic Burrito last night, in case you missed it, here it is:

I love working with Derrick, his first Stake cover kicked the whole series off over 2 years ago. It's great to witness, and join him, as he evolves as an artist! Hope you like this one as much as I do!

Francesca was working on a cover we hope to reveal soon - it's hotttt, like NSFW hot, but that's a different story. Now she's working on pages, which puts us on track for September completion! I got page one and couldn't wait to share it with all of you!

I like to pack a punch with page one and Francesca has never disappointed, so here it is as we jump right back in!

I'm in love with this page, so much emotion, and this is just the beginning.

Can't wait to share more!
